As America approaches 250 years as a nation, we find ourselves at a defining crossroads. We cannot in good conscience celebrate life, liberty, and our nation’s future while simultaneously funding the greatest destroyer of innocent American lives. That contradiction must end.
Today, more than 300 pregnancy center directors, alongside Americans United for Life and our founder Anton Krecic, delivered an open letter to President Trump and Members of Congress with three clear demands:
- The permanent defunding of big abortion providers like Planned Parenthood
- Restored protections against the dangers of chemical abortion
- Greater support for life-affirming organizations that truly serve American families
To every pregnancy center leader who signed: thank you. You stand on the front lines every day, offering baby essentials, parenting support, medical guidance, and genuine hope to women facing unexpected pregnancies. Your willingness to take action at this critical moment sends a clear message that Americans care deeply about life-affirming care.
Abortion businesses are unequipped to meet the actual needs of women, while the pregnancy centers we support offer practical resources that support moms before and after birth.
As John Mize, CEO of AUL, made clear: women deserve authentic healthcare, not a taxpayer-funded lie that ending the life of their child will resolve the difficult circumstances that led them to consider abortion. The One Big Beautiful Bill Act was a historic first step toward permanent defunding, but the work isn’t finished. Federal dollars cannot continue funding abortion.
If we want to rededicate this nation to the Lord and pursue a culture that truly values life, the path forward is clear. Congress must defund big abortion and prioritize the life-affirming organizations that meet women where they are, with compassion, with resources, and with hope.
